Momento Tinta Barocca 2018

Natural and gentle winemaking procedures were followed in the cellar, allowing the vineyard to speak and express themselves in the wine. This wine is a tribute to all our old vine Tinta Baroccas of South Africa, who have worked long and hard to produce some beautiful fine 'red blends' and seldom got the recognition they deserved. A blend of three special vineyards all aged over 40 years, of origin Botrivier, Stellenbosch and Swartland - a soil combination of Bokkeveld shale, decomposed granite and clay.

25% whole bunches and gentle punch downs by hand were done twice daily. After 4 weeks of maceration on skins, grapes were basket-pressed to barrel.Matured for 16 months in older, French oak barrels. No fining.
