THE DREAMCATCHER SOUTH AFRICA

Dreamcatcher South Africa was founded by social change pioneer and specialist Anthea Rossouw 3 decades ago. Her aim: to challenge and address the barriers to improved quality of life and recurring poverty through inclusive, sustainable development in communities across South Africa.
Abandoning orthodox exclusionary socio-economic growth models, Dreamcatcher developed a holistic, pluralistic approach instead in which cor principles of diversity and sustainable outcomes are at the heart of every project tackled. Identifying and transcending the barriers to sustainability, Dreamcatcher has pioneered socio-economic models through re-imagining them into a diverse range of community participative projects with special focus, (yet not exclusionary), on empowering women and youth to play a pivotal role in sustainable futures where they live.
Dreamcatcher’s programs address inequality, focus on sustainability, cultural heritage, wellness, enterprise -and circular economy development, inclusive tourism services and experiences, social cohesion -and environmental protection. Dreamcatcher is recognized globally for leadership in promotion of diversity, social justice, economic efficiency and environmental integrity with projects addressing and delivering concretely on the UN Sustainable Development Goals since 2000.Lead by its visionary founder and committed board members, the 'Dreamcatchers Way' is clearly what in Sars-Cov-2 Pandemic is today called 'the new normal'. As a family, we participated and experienced the unique, award winning community tourism experience called 'Wasteland - Graced Land' in Melkhoutfontein, near Stilbaai, South Africa. Besides spending quality time with the local people, we have witnessed the profound impact Dreamcatcher's contribution is making in this community and wherever their projects are implemented.
In answer to my question to unassuming Dreamcatcher founder, Anthea: "You have spent most of your adult life in township communities in South Africa. What was your ultimate aim with Dreamcatcher all those years ago?', her answer simply was: 'To make Nelson Mandela's dream of a better life for all, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals work".
African Wines are collaboratively supporting a number of Dreamcatcher Sustainable Futures projects through direct donations from sales of our special Collaborative Wine collection.
