Hofstraat Kelder Barbera 2016

This famous grape from Piemonte, northwest Italy, where the Monferrato zone is its heartland, got a foothold in only a few places in South Africa. At Hofstraat Cellar the nebbiolo grapes are naturally fermented in whole bunches and matured in older oak. This pleasant wine has solid black berry fruit, hints of tomato concentrate and wild savouriness, juicy acidity and mild tannins.
